I think books are knowledge machines that change the world and your chances at success. I read every day and there are certain books I use and recommend for the software and professional services businesses. I recommend books because I am a proven expert in these areas. I select useful tools across major areas in business-like, like Economics, Marketing, Accounting, Software Architecture and Development,  Professional Services, Sales, Creativity, Strategy and Design. These books are close at hand for me and what I do.

I love studying the works and results of polymaths no matter how weird they are.

There are also general areas that I think all citizens should read. These are the fundamentals -  Physics, Philosophy, Cybernetics, NeuroScience, Maths, Bio-Chemistry, Bio Physics, Algorithms, Probability & Set Theory, Art, History, Bigraphies, and Memoires. Urban Planning and More. (Transportation, Politics too)

And Yes... I read Fiction about business too - because fiction is often the lie that tells the truth. I think of it as the most liberating way to send a message to millions of people or just one.

I also read a lot of science fiction. The more uncertain I get about the present them more likely I will read popular and good science fiction to see what the creatives and Imagineers are doing. 

This 100 will keep changing, but they are on my mind right now given the context of what we are all going through.  Each Quartet has a logical reasoning and they are together because they are good to read together. Read or Listen to these books, I find that is useful to do both if I have the time. Look for me to mix in Fiction and Non-fiction.... because Liar's Poker and Fooled By Randomn ess are good read besides The Truth.

If you are in a rush - read the summaries of a book or just ChatGPT the heck out of it. If it is a popular book or in the public domain, the bots will know about the book. So feel comfortable using AI Chatbots to explore Freud, Porter, Collins, Asimov or Dunford. There are lots of ways to explore books.
